5 years ago my mom, Mary was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was given 3-6 months to live without treatment. She faced the challenge head on, having a major abdominal surgery and heading to chemo as soon as she was able. She made it through the first chemo cycle (18 treatments in 18 weeks) and had a remission. The cancer returned and she has gone through 2 more rounds of treatment and remissions. It is now back for the 4th time and she is getting ready to go back for additional chemo. She has received 33 chemo treatments to date and is still a fighter. She is an amazing woman full of faith, inspiration and strength. I’m joining members of her support group in WOCA’s Whisper Walk on September 24th and contributing to WOCA’s mission to raise money for ovarian cancer awareness and education. Please consider if you’d like to make a contribution.
